Cosmetic Tattoo

What is Cosmetic Tattoo?

Cosmetic Tattooing is a popular well-tolerated cosmetic treatment involving the controlled insertion of safe colour pigments into the dermis layer of the skin, instantly improving appearance, facial definition and in most instances providing a long-lasting effect. It is a cosmetic treatment that defines your eyes, brows, lips and cheeks with a soft, natural appearance that looks, and stays looking, like perfectly applied make-up or the most subtle of enhancements.

What to expect from my tattoo procedure.

All cosmetic tattooing will ‘fade’ or metabolise to some degree over time which is due to a number of individual factors. Most treatments will last well between 1 and 3 years. With our experience, we are positive we can create the look that you are searching for. Each and every treatment is specifically designed with colour mixing to suit your unique undertones and skin type, skin tone, and facial structure.

What you need to know when considering Cosmetic Tattoo procedures.

When considering cosmetic tattoo the most important task is to find a specialist that you trust. A good specialist should be able to demonstrate a portfolio of work done, present equipment and material being used in the procedure. It is advisable you schedule a consult with your specialist and ask to draw your desired tattoo enhancement in pencil to see if you will like the result. Clients need to understand that Cosmetic Tattoo is NOT a one go procedure it is performed on live tissue, it involves healing, and healing is different for each individual. To achieve good results with the right intensity of colour, minimum two or sometimes three applications are required, colour needs to be built gradually to avoid eyebrows to be too dark, to make eyeliner thicker and darker. For eyebrow in combination techniwue shading on the 1st application and hair strokes on the 2nd application are performed.

Am I suitable for Cosmetic Tattoo?

If you feel your eyebrows could be a little fuller or not symmetrical and you are sick of penciling them in, this could be the treatment for you.

Please see below the list contains medical contraindications that would stop you from being suitable for eyebrow tattooing:

  • Diabetes – due to problems with healing
  • Hypertension – blood thinning medication causes excess bleeding and may affect colour
  • Glaucoma – medical certificate with your GP’s approval will be required
  • Roaccutane – in the last 6 to12 months as may result in poor healing
  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Psoriasis, rashes, abnormal skin textures, moles or irritation
  • Chemotherapy patients
  • Sun burnt skin
  • Recent laser or cosmetic treatment (we advise waiting 4 weeks so that anti wrinkle / dermal filler can completely settle and so skin can recover)
